a 5hr charging time is a definate bad point thats a whole day gone if the batteries flat

I agree 5 hrs charger is just to long. I'm looking for a cordless screw driver and it's the 5 hrs charge which is putting me of buying it.

I tend to buy seperate bits in a box. I recently bought 2" Dewalt Screwdriver bits which I have found to be okay. I'm sure that the Ryobi sets with the bag is being sold in B and Q with 25% off. :thumbright:

It is all about personal preferance really. What you feel most comfortable in using.

Good luck in your purchase :thumbright:
It may seem difficult at first! But everything is difficult at first.

cheap screwdriver bits are a waste of time, you would be better off getting him a gift voucher for somewhere like http://www.axminster.co.uk and he could pick out good quality versions of whatever he uses most.

sets which have loads of bits are usually not very good quality, and you often up with a fair amount of bits/drills which are never used. far better IMO to buy a small selection of decent stuff.

e.g. drill bits:

screwdriver bits: http://www.axminster.co.uk/product.asp? ... e=1&jump=4

spade bits:
