corded drill question

Hi All
Has any one come across a mains drill with a chuck fitted with a clutch/torque setting I bought a drill recently with a keyless chuck and wondered if any one has got to the next logicall step, unless there are safety issues with this set up like using it in screwdriver mode without setting the clutch, although would it be any less dangerous than bind up with a drill we have Iam sure been down the wrenched wrist road a few times

You can get corded power drills with torque settings and you can get them with a safety clutch, but I have never seen both functions one one drill yet. (this does not mean that they do not exist)

Drills with safety clutches are normally more expensive and are often found on drills that are used for core drilling.

Hi Again
It's just recently that it struck me that it was odd that you cand by just a drill with this feature but you can on a battery drill odd I wonder if the chuck on my battery drill can come off again another puzzle is will the chuck come off my corded drill with a keyless chuck with reverse for bit removal and can I swap thigs about might have a play this week end with some drills prop a pointless exercise

The clutch mechanism is not in the chuck. Anyone whose ever destroyed a cordless drill and totally bollocksed up the clutch will say, DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT OPENING IT UP
