Stanley 1-98-255 Folding V-groove trestles
I've just bought a pair of these, mainly because I'm having problems with the previous trestles (big fancy, heavy duty steel ones from Yankland) self destructing. The big plus of these new Stanley trestles is that the slots at the ends of the arms are designed to take CLS, so making-up a sawing table is a piece of cake:
Upshot is I needed something fast and these were the purchase. They remind me of the olde Zag sawing trestles, although the plastic does appear to be a bit harder (so more brittle?). They also have cable cleats on the legs which might come in handy
They aren't ideal in many ways, but with a street price of £25 to £30 they are affordable
As an aside that kitchen has a cracking view - anyone recognise it?

Well mine were a distress purchase from B&Q, but with my "over 60s discount" (fortunately it was Wednesday) they came to £31.50. For those a little younger that's £35.00 - 10% (Wednesdays only, take your granny). I thought that compared with SFX at a penny under £30. They aren't as heavy as some of Stanley's other sawing stools like these but they are a lot more substantial than the bargain basement trestles. Time will tell how they wear [FYI all prices per pair]

I'm generally constrained by weight/size because I don't drive a girt great Tranny-sized van. Still looking for the ideal trestles.......fin wrote:i got these from toolstation. £25 each. ish...

they arent heavy by any means. however they dont exactly fold up that good. they certainly dont fold flat. still they do me ok.

I have had these trestles for 4 weeks by far the best I've used! I had the ones Job and knock has reviewed for 3months I did rate them until all the plastic clips on the shelves started snapping off making them useless with out bits of rope riding them together... I think I just was unlucky.. As I've had many pairs of Stanley food up trestles over the years...
I do miss the slot for CLS
