Finally finished wine rack.

Post by mailee »

I got this wine rack finished at long last and delivered over Christmas. It didn't turn out too bad and my friend was very happy with it and shared one of his bottles with me. :thumbright:

Hi,

Lovely finished job mailee which will also have brought a smile to your face with satisfaction. The carved detail sets it off nicely; did you buy these and glue them in place; they look good?

Thanks for sharing.

Kind regards, Col.

Thanks guys. No Col, they were all carved by hand but the top one was carved on a separate piece and then glued into place. This was my first attempt at hand carving too.

Hi,

Thanks mailee for the explanation; I expanded the picture for a better look and the carvings look so professional I thought you had possibly bought them and planted them; brilliant first attempt; I'm well impressed.

Kind regards, Col.

Stunning piece of work as expected :thumbright:

How long would it take to make such a piece?

Well I couldn't really say how long as it has been made over the past year in between my other jobs. the carvings did take a long time to do. As for the cabinet it only took around two days to make and a day to put on the finish.
