Help with a dishwasher installation

Hi all, hoping for some help with an integrated dishwasher problem.

Neither the guys fitting my kitchen, nor me, can get the door to lie flat. The panel seems to butt up against the washer when it is open, preventing it from lying down. Has anyone experienced this problem?

I've attached some photos. Worth noting that the top of the washer does not meet the counter but is 8cm or so below, is this right?

The kitchen is an IKEA, the front panel is Laxarby, and the dishwasher is the Indesit DIF04B1 13 Place Integrated. Is there a compatability issue here?

Usually dishwashers are put in so there's very little space above (between the worktop and the dishwasher) I've looked online for the installation instructions (found them) but it says within them to look at the building in instructions that come separately . Can't find these online. Perhaps if you have this sheet you could scan in in and post on here? (or take a good close up photo)

Looking at the pictures usually the dishwasher is raised up on its legs so the top is right under the worktop. The door is then level with the top of the DW door. If this were the case would the door clear the bottom?

I had a 2 hour nightmare a week ago without instructions on an intergrated b and poo dishwasher. It was trial and error and no amount of googling helped the cause.
IKEA units are a law onto themselves,no service gap and shocking instructions.

Oh, also you may have to cut a clearance slot at the top of the kickboard. This will be hidden by the shadow line overhang.

Yep. I've had to do that a few times myself in the past. Why, oh why, do the installation instructions never mention this?

I've never not had to take a check out of the plinth!!

Doesn't look to be fouling the kick-plate from the pics ????

It's just an additional tip when fitting,when you open the door 9 times out of 10 it'll hit the plinth.
This one ain't sitting back in position yet either.

yep raise the dishwasher to the top. there should normally be either enough length in the legs or add on pieces for the legs. if not then perhaps a plinth could be made up to get over the distance.

what heights are the units set too? normally 890mm in kitchens i fit.

i normally then have to take about 5 or 10mm out if the top of the plinth.

on the dishwashers i normally end up fitting which are lamona (howdens brand) the machine has leg add ons included inside. and the front legs screw by hand. the back legs ya gotta use a t20 screw driver, dont use a cordless or you snap the mechanism inside.

the door should really be straight forward enough but can be a bit of a faff on.

normally... the door goes flush ish with the top of the dishwasher door. give or take a mm or so.

I've never seen an IKEA kitchen but I have seen plastic sliding strips on some built-in appliance doors? They would allow the door to slide up and allow the door to open fully. My memeory is hazy, it was years back, does anyone know what I'm on about?

Yes that's them, I have seen on fridges but nothing else that I know of, just wondered if they might be part of that door system?

It's usually a little plastic peg that screws on in 4 points of the kitchen door. A template should be provided and these pegs slot into holes on the dishwasher door.
