Howdens Kitchen Fitting advice

Hi,

Now i see myself as pretty good with carpentry having spent the last 12 years making all sorts of bespoke and custom stuff but when it come to kitchen unit its a whole different ball game.
Finally got round to ordering a Howdens kitchen which arrived today but with no CAD plans or instructions. Just need to clarify a few points.

The Tower unit supplied has 2 'shelves' in it which im assuming are to hold it together in transit so i can remove these, but the interior depth with the back board in is 500mm, where as the integrated fridge going in it is 560mm deep so do i take the back board which has been glued and pinned in.

The decor end panels of which i seem to have far more than is needed do i just screw through the cupboard interior into the back of these?

and lastly some clips which came with the integrated oven cabinet i have no idea where they go or what they do.

The back has to come out for the fridge freezer. For the decor end panels I screw them through the side of the cabinet and try to screw them where the hinge will cover the screws. Obviously the screws at the back you can't disguise this way.
You should've got a full instructions booklet giving you all the info you need for howdens kitchens and appliances.
If you pop into your local branch they will give you one.

The clips will be for fitting a panel somewhere - either a drawer front under the sink or a filler panel on the oven housing, depends on the size of the oven whether you need it or not.

As you have an integrated fridge, be careful to use the correct hinges, they have a slightly slimmer profile than the standard ones.

The cream clips may or may not be needed depending on the height of your integrated oven - 600mm tall, single or 700m tall, double.

If the oven is less than the height of the unit, you build in a shelf for it to sit on.

The larger clip (male spigot) locates by the lugs into the pre-drilled hinge holes, secured by a central screw (it doesn't look like your H's unit has hinge holes).

The female clip is screwed to the back of the decor panel, panel pushed on, and once there it will NOT come off.

There should be more of the white hoop / metal U clips? Some with each unit? They are for the kickboards, IMHO. (White on the unit, metal clip on back of board, but not needing two on every unit)

Howdens plynth clips look like this usually - at least the hundreds I've fitted do

the cream clips are to hold the trim panel on that fits underneath the oven.

the larger ones push into the sides of the cabinet. the smaller ones screw onto the back of the filler pannel and then this pushed into place.

the other clips are for plinths. when you sometimes end up with a internal right angle corner.

as already mentioned the fitting manual will cover this and also the various heights to stick too

thanks for all your help, its slowly coming together. Its hard to find the motivation to fit a kitchen in the evening when youve been at work all day
