fitting a howdens kitchen at the moment. the client wanted a belfast sink but as she was getting laminate worktops its obviously not gonna work. so in the end she decided on a sort of kind of belfast ish type sink.
ive went and fitted the units and never really looked at the sink till now. (bit of a mistake really)
think what im gonna do is take off 10mm from the back of the worktops to try and lose the gap between the sink and the wall.
im kinda concerned about how to make the panel beneath fit and more importantly be fairly water proof
one last pic
doubt ill find anyone thats fitted this particular sink into a howdens kitchen like...
moving the units forward might be possible.... however it would muck up the way its been designed with the decor ends on the wall and base units. the whole room has been an annoying pisstake of pissed every direction possible walls.

Re: the ikea sink of doom
i take it the sink has been designed to utilise a 600mm worktop, do you have enough worktop on the 90degree piece if you take 10mm off,

Can you not notch the front of the worktop to push the sink back? This is quite common with fitting bathroom basins into worktops. The panels underneath are the same but usually the basin comes with a template for the cutout.

i was hoping to avoid notching it into the worktops. if that was the case i can see nothing but swollen nastiness within 6 months of me fitting it unfurtunately.darrenba wrote:Can you not notch the front of the worktop to push the sink back?
