For Sale: FESTOOL OF2200eb 1/2in plunge router <230 volt>

Post by Job and Knock »

Selling on behalf of a colleague who has taken forced retirement on health grounds.

I have for sale a Festool OF2200eb 1/2in plunge router <230 volts>, approximately 2-1/2 years old, unused for last 6 months. This has only been used on kitchen worktop joints and has done about a dozen or so private kitchen jobs (no site jobs) in its' lifetime so it's very little used, in excellent condition and very clean. Has always been cleaned and stored indoors in the house when not actually in use.

Comes with the standard phenolic sub-base, dust deflector, 30mm guide bush, 1/2in and 1/4in collet/nut sets, 24mm wrench and manual - the full set of bits and pieces that a new router comes with and I've checked it against my own to be certain. Complete in Systainer 5. The Systainer has a few signs of wear and tear (minor, cosmetic) and the sub-base has a few minor, inevitable scratches from use which do not affect the tool in use. Otherwise absolutely pristine.

Never a cheap tool, these routers are currently sold at circa £600 new (best street price) with dealers asking £630 and up. The asking price for this one is £395, although open to reasonable offers. Can deliver in Greater Manchester, East Lancashire and West Yorkshire areas or ship at cost using My Hermes, etc. I'd have had it myself but for the fact that I require 110 volt tools for site use, so offered here first at a price below anything you'll find on eBay today (I've checked). The OF2200eb is absolutely the best large router I've ever used and a bargain at the asked price IMHO

Having problems with my camera cable today so I can't post photos ::b - will post tomorrow, though

We talked it through the other day and it's priced to (hopefully) sell. I've already got a 110 volt one and it's a bloody marvellous piece of kit.

I have the feeling that your understanding of what carpenters and joiners actually do with heavy routers is a bit awry, B-A. Not being American I've rarely had the urge to strap a good plunge router under a table and diminish it's capabilities when any cheap old piece of tat could be used to do that job instead. What this router excels at is the professional stuff like routing housings for stairs, cutting worktop joints, working Corian (a sure fire router killer), heavy rebating, heavy moulding in situ, etc where real power is required and a single pass cut is often the norm :thumbright: In any case I though that you didn't see the need for 1/2in routers......

1/2 are essential
but most off the stuff i do tends to be country style pine furniture so roundover champer rebate which are easilly done with a hand held and router matt
but i do make my own moulding and doors but using the m12v without fine adjustment is a pain in the arris so discourages its use hence the question about fine adjustment

id love one of these. but all my gear is 110v. they do look class though. my current router is a makita rp2301.

for now ill stick with picking one up when i go to axminster haha. theyre bloody heavy like. a lot heavier than my makita. my only complaint on my makita is the stupid dust extraction set up

That's a steal for someone needing a router.

ok just read both your pms a bit more fully
i will have it at the price i agreed no problem
it seems to be a bit off a misunderstanding
as i choose not to muck people about
i wont use a smillie as its a genuine aplollogy ----sorry j&k

-- Wed Dec 14, 2016 11:45 pm --

further to my comments
the comment i seem to have misunderstood in j&ks message was j&k said something like
"i now have the router"
i took that to mean he had decided to keep it when in fact he ment i now have it when would like it
so my comment off ohh thats fine if you want to keep it or words to that effect
would off course wind him up
yes i want it please

thank you j&n arrived today as promised :huray:
stunning tool really can see why people rave about the quality and how well thought out and easy to use
if you are using them day in day out they can easily pay for themselves in satisfaction and a bit faster productivity
wouldn't recommend if money is an issue or little used but highly recommend for ease off use and quality :thumbright:
