Sky TV

Post by The Weegie »

I recently got Sky HD. Thought I would tape loads of films over the christmas period for the children. Taped about 20 films and programmes.

Last night I decided to cancel the movies and sport.
Got up this morning to notice that all the recorded material on the hard drive had been blocked. Message saying that if you want to view the programmes I have to upgrade my package  :cussing:

I am just about to phone sky and kick up F... :angryfire: :angryfire:
It may seem difficult at first! But everything is difficult at first.

That is what they do - you can only watch stuff from channels that you have subscribed to at the time you watch them!!

Crap, isn't it!

only way round that with Sky is to resubscribe for a month, then copy them all off to video or DVD-Recorder via SCART output, then cancel
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

In the UK we have the Mergers and Monopolies Commission. So how was it possible for Rupert Murdoch to take over British Satellite Broadcasting and merge it to produce a monopoly in satellite TV in the UK?

Rupert Murdoch, a man with more money than is good for him, and more influence than is good for us.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

If you get customer services (or similar) that charge check the number if it starts 0870 then help is at hand

Do a google search for "say no to 0870" and there is a website you can enter the 0870 number and if available it will list the normal landline number for that 0870.

Stuff 'em the cheeky *@*!!**@@@@
If i have the time i dont have the money.

Sky Technical helpline: 01506 831006.

To save even more money on phone calls, I use a prefix service . Calls cost only 5p.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

If you have a ntl/virgin phone its costs you nothing, also in their defence I recently got a VBox, and with that you get the HD free unlike sky and their additional box and cash - VBox is a one off purchase got mine for £75.

I use 18185 and 18866 as well - my call charges are something like £1.50 a month now at the most - excellent service
just pay the connection charge and nothing else for most calls :thumbright:
