Whats the best order to use in connecting worktops, adding the new sink and hob?
I currently have 3 laminate worktops to join with bolts and colorfill. I also have a hob and ceramic sink to add.Next going to cut the sink and hob holes.
Is it wise to level and connect up all the worktops first then add the sink and hob or to add the sink and hob first and then level and connect the worktops?
If I connect the worktops first then add the sink and hob there's a chance their weight might change the worktop joints, but if add the sink and hob first then the worktops will have less free play to level them.

Re: order to connect worktops and add sink/hobb
Hob and sink weight will be supported by the cabinets underneath them. The tops of the cabinets should all be level and coplaner before you install the worktop so it will be supported evenly. If after you join the worktops there is a slight gap between the cabinet and the worktops then you can add some shims.

There's no levelling to be done once the base cupboards are fitted, that is your level, get it right.
It's sometimes beneficial to install the sink top first - think, access to clips etc., and in some places I've worked the plumbers expect it to be done for them anyway

One day it will all be firewood.

Oh something I forgot to add, if you do the cut-out for the sink first it could weaken the worktop to the point that you could break it during installation.

Thanks to all of you. I'm looking to keep the worktops in place and cut the sink and oven hole in place.Just worried that if I lift them back in after, as they're weaker with the cut outs they could break.Rorschach wrote:Oh something I forgot to add, if you do the cut-out for the sink first it could weaken the worktop to the point that you could break it during installation.
