Hello everybody,
Hi Chez. Thanks for accepting me. Hi everybody.
I'm Kirit.
I'm from Harrow Middlesex, and have lived in London England all my life.
I've lack technical/ DIY knowledge all my life and am keen to understand some basics as well as having a community to go to when things go wrong at home, as they often do.
Technical / DIY/ handyman knowledge of my own and amongst my family is at a real low.
To give you a great example, my dad didn't own a drill from 1970-2005. I mean a basic drill :)
But I'm keen to change that.
I guess my family are what was previously known as white collar workers in the 1960s. Of course today nobody can be like that anymore when we have the internet and so much knowledge around us, and it's always good to learn more.
We have a local Wilko near us and I've started purchasing very basic tools from there to try to build up a useful collection for home use.
It's great to be here. Thanks again

Hi Kirit,
Welcome to the forum - one of the best things I ever learned is that there is no such thing as a silly question, so never be afraid to ask, no matter how basic it may seem.
As for buying tools, I find it best to buy things as I need them, and have found that cheap tools may not be the best way to go even if they seem like a bargain...
