Hello all,
I had my bathroom refitted this time last year with metro tiles placed across three of the four walls.
Unfortunately hairline cracks started to appear on around 20+ tiles across the three walls within a few months.
The guy who fitted my bathroom suggested that the issue could have happened for a number of reasons, such as weight from the loft on the bathroom or the stud wall not being strong enough. He subsequently offered to rebuild the whole bathroom for a further £7k!
Eventually he re-tiled the bathroom for free last month, however hairline cracks have started to reappear again already.
Where do you think I stand on this issue please? And his anyone experienced anything similar?
I appreciate that this problem could be down to one or more of a range of issues, but isn't that the supplier's responsibility to consider prior to starting a job?
The job has been obviously done twice, but if it hasn't been completed successfully then I can't surely happily accept this situation?
Apologies for all the questions but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Bathroom Tiles Cracking
Are these just solitary large cracks across the tiles or is it more like the glaze crazing?
One day it will all be firewood.

Re: Bathroom Tiles Cracking
Movement in the walls...
Your stud walls however they have been built ...are not strong enough to take the weight off the tiles and adhesive.
