One of the kids has had a kitchen done by another family member and it is an awful job from start to finish (another story) they are now thinking about the tiling. During the fit a suid wall was installed and boarded with ply then painted with emilshion with the joints taped and easyfilled , I think...... the units were then fitted on all four walls if that makes sence
I don't know what spacing the studs are at or what spacing the screws were put at .
My question is .... Is it possible to prep the ply for tiling ? if not what can be done ? They have already had one tiler turn them down flat
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Hiya Barry, long time no hear.
Tiles on wood are never successful due to the movement in the wood, even with a flexible adhesive. Is it possible to plasterboard over the bits that are to be tiled to give a nice substrate for the tiles to stick on?

Hi ya mate, yep it's been a while, I hope you are good. I have had some health issues that have slowed me down a bit but am doing ok now, The kitchen has units on all walls and is already tight with a full height unit on an adjacent wall so over boarding with plaster board is a difficult one.. I was sort of looking for a miricle primer !.. I never actually thought that I could board with the units in place and finish that ...... Thank you ... you are a star .. some times the obvious is in front of you but you can't see it lol.
