Hello, can anyone recommend a wood to replace my old internal sills ? Have 6 to replace, and any advice or tips on fitting them. Thanks Steve

if you want to paint them you can buy mdf window boards and they are pre primed.
if you want to stain them you can also buy ready made redwood pine boards as well.
alot of good timber merchants also sell mahogany boards as well.
all the pre made stuff has a 'bull nose' rounded edge and is about 25mm thick.
alternativly you can make your own. i made one recently for a bow window out of a sheet of mdf and routered the front edge round.

Thats great, just a side note. Have taken all the window boards off earlier and noticed yesterday that one of the double glazed units had a massive crack in. One of the "tradesman" on site must have hit it with something, probably a ladder. So now have to replace that.

Thanks again for help Steve
