Check Engine Light On, but no codes.

Post by scatcat1994 »

Hi Guys,

I have a 2005 Peugeot Partner 1.9D.

The check engine light is always on. I have tried 2 readers and a couple garages and there are absolutely no codes stored. Even with their expensive readers.

I have tried to clear the codes, it's still there. I have disconnected the battery, it's still there.

The best theory any mechanic can give me is that perhaps the fuel pump has been changed and the ECU doesn't like it.

The new MOT rules mean it will fail the MOT regardless of it passing the emmisions test.

Any advice on how to get rid of the damn thing?

Honestly tempted to just get behind the facia and put a bit of tape over the bulb but will be really embarassing if I get caught.

Cheers guys,

Scott
