Hello everyone.
So I am replacing an old ceiling light fitting in my bedrooom. There are only 2 wires coming from the ceiling and the new light has a ground wire. How can I connect the new lamp up. Do I just connect the old wires and then leave the ground in the new connects?
I should add I am far from a clever man so please keep it simple.
I am in UK if thats important.
Thanks in advance

I'll keep it incredibly simple.
you MUST NOT fit a new light fitting that requires an earth unless there is an earth wire.
You may fit a "double insulated " light fitting.
I would suggest if your lighting circuit has no earth then you are well overdue for a complete rewire.
