Any experience / do you have Blum Soft-close hinges in your kitchen?
Just taken delivery of a new kitchen from DIYK - Ultima - (very happy so far, well-built pre-assembled, all there, definitely above your shed average, but not quite perfect, quality). It's come with soft-close door hinges that were extra money to order (but that I didn't actually request or pay for, so can't complain).
But they don't strike me as being up to much. Just about work on a 400mm door, but on a 600mm door you wouldn't know it was there, it still slams shut.
How do you remove the buffer to adjust the door mounting? Nothing in the fitting guide.
It does seem they can be bought as an add-on, so might as well just remove them & go as originally intended.

Blum Soft-close hinges - any experience?
Post by dewaltdisney »
They are clip on's just lever it up gently pulling forwards slightly, they are hooked in one direction. There is a square hole in the hinge base and the clips go in this and you push it in and back to lock. I fitted mine years ago and they are as good as the day they went on. The plastic is dark grey on mine and I wonder if the ones in your picture are Ikea ones that are that light grey. Are both hinge and damper marked Blum?

ok i just fitted a diy kitchens kitchen...
yea usually on 600 doors youd need a pair of dampers.
also the hinge plates they use are weird. ya can still adjust em up and down theres a concealed screw. on howdens cabs with blum hinges the plates screw to the cabinet in the conventional way.
the newer type where the damper is integrated to the hinge are much better

Thank you both for your help.
A flat screwdriver under the front grey button, and it pops off revealing the adjusting screws; refit by inserting the front first and pressing against the spring clip.
Having discovered that, pinched one off another door and sure enough doubling up cures the issue.
Simples when you know!
