Led strip kit to switch?

I am hoping to add this kit

to a garden bar. I have 2 double sockets and a light switch but rather than using up a socket what is the best way of connecting this kit to the light switch?

That kit has a "wall wart" that needs to be plugged in, so you need a socket outlet. You could of course add another socket. (Besides, most light switches have live and switched live, you would need live and neutral)

And if the lightswitch has a neutral (most fitted in the last 10 years seem to have the neutrals looped at the switch) then simply feed a new socket from the switch.

You can't say that, he will open the switch and say it has 2 wires, one brown and the other blue, so it must be live and neutral.

I have not been in a newbuild that has not looped the neutral to the switches for years.

Other options are a SWFCU to feed the new socket, using the switch on the new socket.

Basically the OP does not want to use one of the exiting sockets. And the only answer is to add a new one.

I do know that.

But I doubt in this case he has a neutral.............it is in his garden bar. But I guess we will just have to wait and see.
