19mm and 24mm oak veneered birch plywood is available.

You will need deep pockets.
I used to pay £75+vat per sheet of 18mm.

Hi guys.

I completed the units a few months ago including a TV bench to match.

I realise it's probably a little rough round the edges by your standards but it was my first project and my DIY experience before this was putting up a shelf in the coat cupboard. All in all I'm satisfied and even managed to enjoy the process.

Thought I'd share pics in case it's of interest.

Sorry the most up to date pics are a bit dark but if I don't remember to do this now it'll probably never happen. Had to repaint the doors due to a problem with the varnish finish since the early pics.

there is no such thing as right or wrong just different
you should be very proud as its a great job
i am not being kind i am being honest
the contrast and Ballance are interesting and well though out
the overall Ballance is just right
god it sounds over the top lol but i like it

only negative comment is "assuming push to open " leave finger prints that will detract the eye

I have to agree with the above re finishes esp DWDs .

Birch ply needs sanding before finish and between coats and it certainly darkens fairly quickly , last time I used if for my grandsons Lego table I used satin acylic varnish , applied with a cloth and numerous coats especially around the edges , 1 year on I would say it has similar colour to what u want to achieve, by the way that’s all 18mm birch , some is laminated to give 38 x 38 for legs ect .

I was proud to begin with just in the fact that it's not fallen down but a positive response on here has made my day.

That is a concern about the push close doors big-all - they're not so bad so far and thankfully it doesn't get so much traffic.

Chippo1- I like your lego table finish - I'm looking to do a job in the kitchen and that finish would suit the job.

go out now be a bit cocky over imagine your skill level and make a few mistakes that how you learn

point off interest is the back 6mm[5.5mm] or 18mm ply ??

yes 6mm is the normal just checking as its far far cheaper than 18mm
all you have to remember is you need to start with a box [sides top and bottom ]rebate the back 6x6mm then all the components from then on are 6mm narrower so the back fits on neatly and invisible from the side

3 wide tressles sheet off 8x4 ft x18mm board a size off 3x6 is good if short off space or a sheet overhanging 2 garden benches or table by about 4-6 inches
