I don't whether the item exists or my goggle fu is failing me. I want to covert a single socket into a double, the single is in a recessed back box. I don't want to/can't chase it out for a double box. Is there a double box converter type thing that will screw onto a single back box in some way? Just trying to make this as easy as possible and ideally easily reversible.
I know I could use one of those multi sockets but I don't really like those as they always feel like they are putting too much stress on the socket.
Single socket to 2 gang.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

1 gang to 2 gang socket converter is what your looking for
The link for the first screwfix link I have personal experience with, I've installed 2 into a 1930s built flat that only has single sockets, both have been in 3 years and never had an issue with them.
Screwfix requires a 35mm backbox

Or
https://www.screwfix.com/p/schneider-el ... hite/108ft
Requires a 25mm back box
