Inside the Factory - JCB
I put my intense dislike for Greg Wallace aside as I was interested to see the factory process to build a JCB. How on earth this childish loon can be given so much work amazes me. He constantly butts in with unfunny comments of a simpleton and you can see the experienced staff who lost the draw and had to accompany the t*at politely pretend to smile at his stupid comments. However, ignoring the shouty Wallace, Healy, and the over-intense Ruth woman the actual process to build a backhoe was very interesting. Okay, nothing you probably did not know but interesting nonetheless. Have a look on Catch Up but fast forward over stupid and co.

I observed part of the programme (Missed the beginning) if he was not liked, he would not be on his umpteenth series of it. You can't please all the people all of the time. I do prefer "How its made"

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

Yes, I agree with what you say. I just feel these presenters like Wallace and Mel Geldroic are so infantile with their stupid comments that are just not funny. It either shows that the British audience is made up of a lot of vacuous fools that enjoy such crap or there is a collective acceptance that these antics are the norm. I think a good example of a decent presenter is Joe Lycett who is very quick-witted and amusing in this sort of role. But, each to their own.

Presumably not the version that includes idiotic off-hand commentary from 'experts' (usually in their 20's)?
I got disillusioned with all these how-its-made programs when they all started to turn into 'first we make part a, then part b then add them together to get the finished item'. No real detail. Watch Youtube videos of manufacturing processes to get a better insight.

It's typical media dumbing down. An 'acknowledgement' that people are too stupid to understand anything more complex than putting a square shape in a square hole. Horizon used to be an excellent 'science' resource but like everything else these days is 'for the slow-of-mind' and inevitably polluted with threats of global warming.dewaltdisney wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 11:07 am It either shows that the British audience is made up of a lot of vacuous fools that enjoy such crap or there is a collective acceptance that these antics are the norm.

I really do mean the programme called "How its made" I think its French Canadian, but exported all over the world, and then dubbed with that country's language. (I have seen the same clip in other languages, that is what I base my assumptions on.) Over hear it is voiced by Tony Hurst.

Yes, that seems to be the original (Tony Hurst) - the more modern version is cr@p
