Doorbell Fix

Hello.

Parents doorbell is setup using two different systems.

The front door is wired into a transformer as shown in the attached image with a transformer of the mains.
The wire was injured when building for the rear door, so it is a wireless unit from byron.

I want to keep the wired system in place as I prefer wired systems where possible. The problem with this wired system is that it is not quite loud enough for them to hear throughout the house.

My plan is to find a way to get two extensions for the wired doorbell so that it can be hard in bedrooms and living area.
This will have to be wireless as I am not going to track any more cables at this stage. I was thinking of getting those which plugs into the mains.

It would be advantageous if at this stage I could unify both pushes to feed into a single system, rather than duplicating the system throughout the house. That way if the front doorbell failed I could install another wireless push into the mains supplied bell unit.

Any help on how I go about this?

The althea is to find a decent sounding high decibel bell unit for the front door.

We have a plug in wireless chime from amazon https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... a7BV2ApQP9 and I can’t praise it enough. The two chimes can be heard throughout our house and are loud enough to wake the dead!!
There is a small battery in the door push that I change once a year and it’s a lot less faff than a wired system.

I cheated and use an old baby alarm plugged in next to door bell.

Hi - I never got around to sorting this issue and it has now become a bigger problem as peoples visits are not being heard as the chime of the doorbell is being muffled by walls, doors and TV's.

Is there something I can add to - or in place of - the chime unit which would allow the mains doorbell at the front door to integrate with a wireless doorbell at the rear door and permit multiple sounders in the property? I'd like to avoid having dead wiring in the property - even if switched off at the consumer unit. So for that reason I would like to avoid a wireless doorbell at front of property too.

Alternatively an ultra loud chime for the wired doorbell would be a suitable option.

You can get mains plug in doorbells, lots of radio door bells (With multiple bells) But you said you don't want radio (I don't much care for them either)
Have you considered hard wiring a couple of sounders as and where required?
If it helps, our door bell is a fire alarm sounder run from 12v not 24.

Oops, yesterday I forgot to add a picture.
This really is a sounder for a fire alarm, but so it's not too obtrusive I painted it white, and it sits just above the skirting board.

Had this problem with a 92yo deaf auntie, she did have a hard wired bell with different chimes for front door & back door, bell unit in the hallway but not loud enough with doors closed. After researching door bells for the deaf (some flash a light) and max. volume types, I settled on the Byron Sentry BY102.

Firstly, this has a bell push that takes a small battery, no wiring, multiple pushes can be linked to the sounder(s).

Secondly, the sounder plugs into the mains & you can have several. The result was I put one in the kitchen, one in the hall & one in the sitting room, they all go off at (nearly) the same time when the button is pushed.

Yes the cost of three sounders and two pushes added up, but it did the job.
