We have watched this three-part series on this week about the family murdered in the French Annecy region. It was a very good insight into an unsolved crime and I recall following it closely at the time. The leads that were followed up show so many different links to a possible hit but the stupid French settled on the deceased man's brother. At the time I thought that the cyclist was the target and when it turned out he was a sponger who was living off a local rich family's daughter there was a clear motivation. If it was a hit then the cyclist's movements would have been plotted and the fact that the unlucky family arrived at the crucial time made them collateral victims.
As usual, a blinkered French investigation ignored the line of investigation and the crime remains unsolved. Worth a watch.

Murder in the Alps
Yes I watched it, and incredibly the French police missed the little girl who was found alive in the car many hours after the rest of the family were found slaughtered.

Did anyone else have problems getting ep 2 on TV?
We had to watch ep2 on my phone, I had to download the app. Bizarrely it showed ep2 on the phone app but not on the TV app.
Anyway this program is getting better by the minute. Halfway thru episode 2 now and I'm expecting Osama bin laden to be implicated any minute! Well worth a watch.

Murder in the Alps
My childhood friend Tommy crashed his car and his mate Raymond came out of the sunroof. Raymond had crawled for a distance and ended up in a bush where he eventually died but no idea how long it took him to die. Tommy had severe spinal injuries and was in a coma. A few days later Raymond's family contacted the police to make a missing person complaint. The police finally put two and two together and visited the crash scene again and found Raymond. The police had thought Tommy was coming home alone when in fact he had been travelling in the other direction dropping Raymond off at his house. The was a big hullabaloo about it and I think Raymond's family was compensated. If Raymond had been found at the scene at the time he might have been saved.
Tommy is in a wheelchair now.
