Lawnmower Breakdown Cover Query

Post by rautospoon »

Hi. The Bosch three year (breakdown) warranty on my UniversalRotak Battery lawnmower expires shortly. Does anyone know of a company tnat I could use to "extend" this with ?
I have used Domestic and General in the past but they no longer provide "cover" for lawnmowers. Thank you.

You are better off making your own sinking fund. I have account pots for repair and replacement. My mower fund has had £10 a month for 8 years. I just replaced it spending £400 and moved the balance to another pot that was depleted by a new washing machine.

Agree with DWD, most of those policies have so many get out clauses they are not worth the paper they are printed on...

Lawnmower Breakdown Cover Query

Thanks for the replies. "Sinking Fund" is a decent idea and worthy of consideration.
I've had (and have) a number of "breakdown policies" over the years and have never had any problems whatsover with succesfully making claims for repair/replacement and the process involved was always simple and straightforward.
I suppose it is the total "peace of mind" (albeit at a "cost") that insurance gives you that I find so appealing.
