Rattle after EGR valve replacement

Hi. I have replaced my EGR valve due to an intermittent p0401 code and engine light (as per my previous post). After replacement the engine light and code have cleared (although as it's intermittent and the battery was disconnected then it's too early to know if it's fixed the fault). However at low revs there is a very slight but noticeable rattle in the engine only when I accelerate. I did use an aftermarket EGR valve (as I'm still not convinced its the EGR valve causing the fault code) so wondering if that's likely to be the problem or if anyone has any other ideas? It's a Golf plus 2007 which has done over 100K. The car drives fine except for the rattle.

You left the old one in the glove box?

That sounds weird because when my EGR valve went on my Peugeot van it gave off a rattling noise. I ignored it for ages until it eventually packed in and left me stranded.

Check that they haven't forgotten to install heat shields back on correctly.

In case it helps anyone, the rattle was due to one of the gaskets not being installed correctly. Once fixed the rattle went.
