What is the likely cost of repairing this rear bumper damage?
Hello
I accidentally reversed my car into a security gate that automatically opened as I approached it while manoeuvring to exit a car park.
I've attached a photo of the damage. Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much it would cost to fix it?
The rear parking sensors are working fine so the car itself is unaffected.
Thanks

It really depends on what actual damage has been done. I would suggest you take it to a body shop and ask them how much. If one person on any forum said it will be £70 and another said it will be £207+vat. What will you do? Sorry it's not the answer you wanted.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

What is the likely cost of repairing this rear bumper damage?
Thanks
I emailed one place today and attached the photo.
This was their response:
You would be looking at £475.00 + VAT @ 20% to remove / Repair and paint then refit to vehicle.
As long as there are no splits in the bumper cover.

Buy a used one in colour and replace it. They are mostly clips and a couple of screws holding it on. Check ebay, it should be cheapest option.

Google for "SMART repairs" in your (nearest town name) - practitioners are often mobile and can repair that sort of damage at your home or place of work. They are equipped with computerised paint mixing/matching, spray guns and heaters, often under a collapsible awning in case of inclement weather.

Your decision on repair will be based on how cheap you can buy a used bumper in colour and the Smart repair cost. Depending on the car a used bumper in the same colour on eBay can be as little as £50. Replacing is quite within the realm of DIY.

Shop around, the body place I use (hidden away in an industrial estate) was half the cost the bigger places were charging and really friendly guys.
The little backalley places tend not to get so much insurance work so don't inflate prices so much.
