I was watching this video on a channel I follow where the presenter bought a Merc C63 that turned out to have a duff engine. He got it moved to a pals yard and they pull the motor out to see what is wrong....bloody hell I have never seen anything like it before. Okay, this might be boring if you are not mechanically minded but many will find it interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YePMDSJrVEg Go 24 mins if you want to skip the strip down.

I'll watch that later.
I started watching Matt Armstrong on YouTube but I turn it off when they start begging for money. He wanted money to rebuild a lambo engine saying something along the lines of

I bet there are loads of suckers paying to watch him swanning around. His fake teeth annoy me.

I quite like Matt Armstrong, he takes on massive builds and he raises money for them by auctioning off finished projects. I changed my opinion of him when he tracked down a nurse whose partner had died of Covid and gave her a grand to help her out.
Do watch the Merc video it is very interesting, I am interested in comments on it.

For the channel to buy new projects and parts I understand. I think his main income is from rental properties and YouTube payments. I don't think he is conning anyone but each to their own interpretation I guess.

Not uncommon to see such carnage in high performance applications - when stuff goes wrong at full belt it goes really rather wrong.
Remember a bloke at a bike cafe showing me pictures of his drag bike engine when it grenaded itself during a run, was like a fist sized hulk had run through it smashing it to bits.
He was already in the process of getting it machined and ready for next time, doing much of the work in his shed. Madman.

Yep, seen some really damaged engines, broken crank shafts, and still running, although not very well. What is really annoying is to repair a V8 in an old Rover then find the break down service had towed it without dropping prop shaft and also damaged the gear box, so had to do that as well.
