Poorly fitting sockets

Post by F20283 »

Hello all.

Looking for some ideas ref poorly fitting sockets/switches mounted very close to each other.

Looked at finger plates but can’t find any to suit this issue.

Don’t really want to interfere with the tiles.

Poorly fitting sockets

If you loosen the screws on the faceplates, you should find there is about 2 or 3mm of movement, as the brackets on at least one side of the backbox should be floating. So hopefully enough to at least get both faceplates horizontal and in line with each other and the worktop.

It's really the tiling and grouting that look like the issue. Other than fingerplates, the only thing I think you can do is remove the faceplates (with the power off) and try to tdy it up a bit with grout to fill the gaps and even the surface a little.
