Bosch orbital sander comparisons

Post by Moli »

Hi All

I have an elderly Bosch PSS230 orbital sander which works, but arcs a little (new bushes?) and the rubber grippers are missing. (20000 orbits per min)

My father has recently passed away and he had a Bosch PSS23 - a later model (24000) orbits per min. This seems to be in good working order, but is a lighter weight (build quality reduced?)

Given the respective ages, build quality, spec and condition can anyone suggest which is the better machine to keep please?

Thanks

David

You should keep the one that works better for you.
If person H said keep the first one, and person K said keep the second one, what would you do, it would still be your decision.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Thanks for your insight.

If any one can help regarding objective guidance based on spec, build quality, robustness etc it would be appreciated.

I would not worry too much, as SE says use the one that works for you. Random Orbital Sanders are more common these days, you can pick them up for £30 odd.
