New light fitting

Post by csaw »

Hi all

I have got a new light for my office, and would like some advice on its fitting.

Please see the pictures. Picture three is the ceiling wires, picture two is the old light fitting and picture one is the new light fitting (I am aware the block will come off the new light fitting.) The previous light went like this:

Brown
Brown blue yellow blue
-------- ------ -------- -------
Nothing black yellow black

There is one light and one switch in this room.

Any advice on fitting the new light would be greatly appreciated.

New light fitting

The blue with the short brown sleeve going to L on the old light is a switched live. Join this to the brown in the new light. The other blue is neutral, join this to the blue in the new light. The green and yellow sleeved on the old light is the earth. Join this to the middle connector on the new light, also the earth.
