its hard to see them "stains" on a photo.. but if you took a better look will notice them. I dont understand why have appeared out of nowhere..
Possibly the protective layer rubbed off or got affected by a sun over years? Kitchen has been fitted just 5 years ago.. kitchen top is made of a wood. But likely its covered with transparent protective layer I do believe.
Tried to wipe it with vinegar, spirit, other cleaning agents.. nothing worked not even slightly.
Any ideas what caused it and is there any way to restore the surface back to normal?

It is hard to see, it looks like moisture under the sealer. The wood would have a translucent sealer finish to protect the surface. Wood is hygroscopic and will absorb and release moisture due to the prevailing ambient air moisture levels. Now through wear and tear, there might be some areas, small fissures in the hardened sealer surface that has allowed moisture to creep under creating the white marks. That is my theory. Now there is a process you can try which is putting an iron on kitchen roll over the area and heat it to vaporise the water which will be drawn into the paper. I am not sure if it will work but tread lightly and keep an eye for scorching.
