It was good, wasn't it?

Please read all; through before posting. (Question at the end)

While watching YouTube the uploader mentioned an old TV prog, and I was thinking that I remembered that particular prog, it was quite amusing, so I searched YT and I found it and obviously watched it.

Talking to the OH today and she said "X was on" (Not sure how you spell actual name  ) I said, it will be rubbish, and I went and did my thing while she watched X, some time later, she said, you know what, you were right, it was rubbish.

My point being, that yes, at the time the respective programmes were good, but to watch them now, I and my OH just couldn't watch and enjoy them as we did.

Question
Has this happened to you? (You see an old prog advertised, so you watch it) and it is what you remember, but you don't like it, is it because we are getting old? or is it the prog was rubbish?
I Note The Avengers and also The New Avengers is on TV, same thing, I just can't enjoy it.
Let me know either way, and if there is an old prog you do watch, what is it and why do you like it?

Oh, and if you want to know what started this off, it was "Pardon my Genie" I was going to insert the YT vid, but I thought better of it, BUT if you want to see the prog Click me
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

I have fond memories of programmes from the past and although they struck me as good at the time they all look poor on viewing through modern eyes. There are exceptions, we recently enjoyed the first two 39 Steps films on Youtube, the 40s and 60s version. But by the same token I watched an episode of Callan that was very poor. I tend to think a lot of current day programmes are woke and full of shite and this certainly was not an issue in the past despite the poor production of some. There is a definite push to preach and present an untrue reflection of society these days and this can be seen in my Worth a Watch, Not Sure, or Not Worth A Watch thread series which tend to separate out the dross.
