Zinsser allcoat

Hi, I am new to diy and really need some advice, I have sanded my kitchen cupboards back to the wood and painted them with Zinsser allcoat (water based) anthracite grey satin and they look good but one of the dogs has jumped up and has left a faint mark on the cupboard that does not wipe off what can I put on as a protective top coat and what grit sandpaper would I use to key the surface without damaging the paint before applying a protective top coat. Thank you.

I would suggest a clear coat varnish finish. If you get a water-based matt finish it should not affect the overall paint effect See https://www.screwfix.com/p/ronseal-750m ... nish/859ht I would wipe over with methylated spirits to degrease and go straight on using a roller working quickly to get it on and keep a wet edge. Use a small brush to touch in any mouldings as necessary as you go. You might want to create a test board and and paint it up in colour then go over with the varnish to get a feel and see if the result is what you want. (you can vary the choice of matt/satin/gloss to suit the finish you have)
