1. Stain block ......I use oil based undercoat if I have a day in hand or Zinser Cover Stain

I think oil based trade undercoat wins hands down , if time permits ?

I don't find any of the water based zinser Stain blocks up to the job , bin bullseye 123 , bin 123 plus, bin aqua .......

Polycell Stain block etc all seem to be similar but inferior to zinser cover stain in my opinion ?

Happy to be informed

2 . Acrylic Primer Undercoat ....this is a strange one .....I am wary of a primer saying it can be an undercoat and an undercoat saying its a primer ?

Are there any specific water based UNDERCOATS .....not primer and undercoats ? .......which do you think is best ?

Johnstones ?

And if going down the dual purpose water based primer undercoat?
Leyland , Johnstones ?

3. Adhesion primers .......for me to be used to get a primer coat on a glossy or varnished surface ? or tiles , plastic , perspex ..........Crown PX4 , Bedec All Prime ? .....I assume these are decent adhesion primers ? ......mind you like Bin 123 bullseye these seem to be marketed as primer , stain block , adhesion primer , undercoat , sealer .......the whole lot , apart from top coat ! .......sound too good to be true ?

I havnt used crown grip extreme or dulux supagrip so can't comment

Bin red shellac ......sorry but that stuff goes all over the place with me .....I can't use that to do anything at all .....its like painting with extra thinned water
