are these totally obsolete now?
I have old units in my garage (4ft, 5ft, 6ft) and need new tubes for many of then (T8 fitting iirc)
Went to B&Q and Toolstation and they didn't have anything that looked right.
They had some T8 ones but they were LED. Would your 'batten' need to be a special type to take an LED tube?

Feb 2024 was the date they were banned by the government. You can however still buy them on line Click me
It depends on what you have as to what you have to do to convert it. Some you have to take the gear out, some just use a link where the starter is.

found some of those really old 211mm things in my dads garage. told him they were that old theyd be no use. ha he insisted keeeping them
