Cordless Electric Chainsaw

Post by MichaelJA »

Hello

I need to buy a chainsaw, and I think I've opted for a cordless electric chainsaw, main reasons are less noise, ease of maintenance and transporting around.

I'm hoping there's some people out there who have previously owned some and can give me an idea as to which is the most reliable make to go for, and perhaps which models are the best?

I intend to use it for trimming back some trees in the garden, also when I go camping I can cut up some logs for the fire stove, so it's not going to be used for heavy duty work.

I think my budget will be up to a maximum of around £400.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Michael

Cordless Electric Chainsaw

I have three chainsaws, a cordless mini, a corded electric, and a petrol one. It depends on what you are cutting and what you need. The mini chainsaw is used most as it cuts easily up to 3 inch branches. The corded electric saw I use on up to 8 inch timber and the petrol is needed for anything over. The mini chainsaws are best as they do most of the jobs you indicate plus they are cheap. To do sustained cutting of thicker timber you need a lot of power and cordless would soon fade. Have a look at this as an example of the mini type https://www.amazon.co.uk/Chainsaw-Peekt ... 0aWM&psc=1 The mini saws can be had for £25 but the batteries are a lottery. Buying from Amazon gives you the product return option.
