Toilet seat sliding

Post by spr0ut »

The toilet seat on one toilet keeps sliding. It had the standard plastic fixings. I bought these https://amzn.eu/d/6mWvaj3 and whilst width wise they fit fine, the screw doesn't screw down tight. It is hand-tight but not fully secure. Any ideas what else I can do as it's so annoying

Can you not try these ones Click me or a squirt of silicone (Over night)
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Thanks, but it's more the issue with the fixings rather than the seat. I perhaps need longer fixings?

Is it a top fixing type or do the pan holes go right through? The top fixing type relies on the bolt pulling the rubber bung tight to grab the hole. The straight-through type uses a conventional nut and bolt. The pan type will determine the fitting used.

. The seat is no different to any other but the hinge fitting arrangement is better. Also some hjnges are very prone to moving if they are not linked to each other by a bar or firmly secured to a sturdy seat.
