Fitted a Yale BS1 nightlatch yesterday and things are not going to plan! Won't bore you with the details but ended up having to smash the lock off the patio doors to get into the house last night when the nightlatch refused to let me in!!!
All fitted as per instructions and all works perfectly when the door is open. Close the door and the deadlock lever is compressed and engaged. Now, this should deadlock the bolt and also deadlock the internal handle. The key should still work from the outside..... but it doesn't.. Any ideas? have I done something wrong or am I missing something? When the deadlock is active, EVERYTHING is locking up, even the key from the front of the door.
