Hi everyone
So I spent a bit of money and bought an SDS Max Drill / Breaker
It works wonderfully, with no complaints.
(removing tiles and taking walls back to exposed brickwork)
It came with a pump action bottle of grease
Where the grease goes on the end of the bits (recommended by the manufacturer)
That grease pump does not work, it did for a pump or two but then stopped working.
I ended up cutting the tube open to continue working, the grease pump can be bought online but
the shipping is as much as the pump itself.
My question is
Can I use any old grease like this from screwfix
cheap grease
or do I need the specific grease made by Makita or the other tool brands that make SDS MAX tools?
(is there a unique quality about it)
Thanks in advance

I don't know about the grade of grease. but I do know that it is possible to over grease them. I had a customer return one to us under warranty, (I forget the make) It came back with a refusal to repair as it had been over greased A lesson in RTFM.

Cheers for that Bourbon
That's a great point I didn't consider regarding the warranty.
I will just purchase the correct grease and accept the delivery cost.
The last thing I want is to get a warranty refused due to me using the wrong grease,
should the tool fail within the warranty period.
I don't expect it to fail....but you never know.
The tool ain't cheap so it's an investment in its working life.
I call this a closed issue.
Thanks to everyone who had a look
Again, thanks Bourbon for taking the time to post a reply.

My hedge clippers drive box requires Lithium grease. I had a bit of trouble sourcing the right sort but I noted it was not packed around the drive gears just a thin coat. This must be a thing for grease, small amounts when needed.
