Upvc multi point lock sticking.
Got a multi point lock sticking on patio door. Pretty sure it's something in the lock body as is just a difficult to turn key when door is open and I lift handle as when closed. Cylinder seems to be spinning ok so this points to lock body for me. Hoping I can take out and clean or see what is causing the issue. Annoyingly on the patio doors they have top and bottom bolts so the lock is connected to these also have to disconnect.
Any tips? Brand is era

Usually this means the espagnolet gearbox is not fully reaching the position for the lock to turn easily. The other thing to look for is a plunger that activates on the door closing allowing the lock to turn.

Well a similar thing happened a couple of years ago I took the lock out, a small bit of wire fell out the lock gearbox and all has worked fine since. Anyway took the lock out tonight was playing around with it like something was jamking inside. Shook it and moved it and another piece fell out. This seems more substantial than a bit of wire but all was working fine after that. I wad throwing the bolts and spinning the cylinder no problems. So for better or worse I've put it back in the door. I'm moving house next week so wasn't great timing. I'm not trying to bodge it till the sale, I did call the window firm about picking a new lock up but she gave me the old call you back spiel so think this will be the end of it. Hopefully gets another few trouble free years

Well I dropped into the window firm yesterday and spoke to the guy running things in the workshop. Gave me another multipoint lock no problem no cost. He said still covered by warranty. Not bad as was supply only. I'm not being funny and I know this is sexist but there seem to be an awful lot of women in pen pushing jobs that are just ineffective. I'm copping it all the time at work. They literally don't do what they are supposed to infact probably create just as much work as they solve so next to useless! Anyway this was the kind of situation where turning up and just having a chat and explaining the situation worked out well. I can sleep easy now knowing I've done my best for the buyers of the house. I'd be pretty annoyed if I bought a house and lock packed in

This lock that broke was a genuine era. The main reason I decided the change was because I thought what happens if your lock packs in and your door is locked. Surely on these multi point doors you are donald ducked or is there a way to get them open?
