:Can you advise the best way to pick up the live and earth wire for the auto reversing sensors control unit on a 2004 Honda Civic.

How long are the wires for the sensors?

If they are long enough to reach to the dashboard then you should be able to easily pick up a live and neutral there, perhaps one of the wires that feeds the stereo!

Fearn - where are you planning to site the control unit? usually these would be fitted somewhere in the boot area area as otherwise you would have to run 4 or 6 sets of wires - one pair from each sensor to the control unit and I doubt they are long enough anyway

The typical installation is a control unit that gets tucked away behind a bit of trim somewhere in the boot - with all the sensor cable pairs going to them.

The earth can come from virtually anywhere - find a screw or bolt that goes into the carand piggy onto that.
Power bets to come from the +12V that goes to a reversing light - that way the sensors are only active when in reverse.
If you have a unit that just buzzes, it will be loud enough when in the boot I bet!
If you have a unit with a countdown display as well, that I would have thought will take power from the control unit anyway?
If not and it does need its own power, then often the easiest place to get an ignition controlled +12V is to tap into the suply to the cigar lighter.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Your local dealer may have a template if you haven't already got one for drilling the holes in the bumper - Don't want to get that wrong!

Fitting 4 renerse sensors on Honda Civic 2004

Is it the same as the 2006 model where the hole markings are on the back of the bumper if so do you remove the bumper in the same way. If this is not the case what are the sensor spacings,

Not sure. I don't have much experience with Hondas unfortunately.
If they do have markings that's even better! Seems like Honda do things properly! :thumbright:
