Power tool cables

Is there a safty reason not to extend the cable on my power tools, i know i could use a extention lead but i want to use a polisher on my van roof and the cable as it is wont reach without the extension banging against the sides,I have some .75 black 3 core to use and was thinking i could cut out the earth wire

well my bosch jig saw has a 5m lead so aslong as you dont go much longer, cant see a problem

No reason why not. Id be inclined to get some 2core though. The nice hard wearing stuff like mowers have.

If it is, you should have a small square on the label, with a smaller square inside it.

Its 110 volt and it has a 2 core cable on it

this is the one,i got it from the states

I've got the same polisher.

What I did was replace the supplied cable with 1.5mm Arctic yellow 15 mtr that way the plugs don't touch the car and I can get round it easily.

Do you do much polish 'detailing' Canny or is it just to remove wax?

If you remove the supplied cable right to the switch of the Porter Cable - the black live and the white neutral.

Detailing is just a hobby for me,however I dont do as much nowadays dont seem to have the time i try to detail the car at least three times a year,the bike gets done every month and the van about once a year what about you ????
