Tacwise 500EL Pro

Post by smiffy »

I bought a Tacwise 500EL Pro mains operated nailer a short while ago and although I haven't used it a great deal yet I'm happy with it. In the instruction manual it states that you must only use Tacwise 500 angled nails. Is it possible to use another manufacturers nails of the same design?
I've heard that Tacwise is a re-branded Paslode, does anybody know if this is true?

as long as angle and gage are same as your original nails. i can't see a problem with that.

How much was the nailer if you don't mind me asking?

Like wood4fun says there should not be a problem using the exact same nails, but it could invalidate the guarantee.

If the nailer was only a few quid it does not really matter, but if it was £500 then invalidating the guarantee is not going to do you any favours.

The nailer cost £83.89 from ToolShop Direct in September 06.
Thanks to Ultimatehandyman and wood4fun for their comments and happy new year to everyone.
