Petrol Strimmer Fuel Line

Post by Tobe »

Hey Peeps,

Right im getting very annoyed with my ryobi strimmer. ::b ::b ::b ::b
I ordered new fuel lines and i just cant get them to seal to the tank, so i tried a gasket material from a tube but the petrol perished and dissolved it in mins, then in my frustration i used gripfil, this lasted for a whole tank and then gave in. Please god someone tell me there is a sealing product out there that will stand up to a petrol oil (2stroke) mix, without comprimising the integrity of the tank and lines, so i can strim the bloody grass!! ::b :cussing: :cb ::b

Cheers

Tobe!!

I think you mis-spelt it originally as I checked google and number one was a stone used in jewellery

It should be easier to spell

I knew what it was, but not how to spell it correctly

is it a flange fitting, or a pipe?

Cornflake boxes make good gaskets. ;) often used to get out of trouble.

its to seal a pipe where it meets the petrol tank. my new fuel line is ever so slightly smaller and is a small amount of play unless its sealed!

Cheers for all advice, halfords sell it so that the easies option!!

PTFE will melt with petrol, i used to use Heldite
if there is play in the tubing then the tubing is the wrong size or needs a clip to tighten the hose down onto the hose spigot
