Hi All,
I had my window repaired by the Local Natioal glazing company, as i took the door tirm off ang got it ready for him. He only chrged me a fiver £5.

He applied black primer on the Plastic and he scraped the white cover off from the side glass and applied black primer where the plastic hinge will sit on the glass.

He then applied black silicon which they used for Windscreen on the plastic clip and window where the clip will sit.

He told me to leave it for 24hours and if this does not work then the glass has to be replaced.

I still need to sort out the scratch mark, as i have been busy with DIY work.

scratches are easy mate; just use a cutting compound and a good polishing machine.... a bodyshop will charge you 5-10 to buff the scratch out. £80-£100 to buff the whole car... maybe less as its a micra.

Raf,
I am going away i will get the cutting compound and buy a polishing machine and will have a go.

Is the cutting compound is it one colour or do they have different colours ?

Its not colour specific. A good bit of propper polish will be required to bring back the shine afterwards.

what ever you do dont polish one area for too long or your could "burn" the paintwork.

as hitch says a polish afterwards would bring out the shine and also protect... for ease of use & result i prefer autoglym.
