I had assumed that it wasn't solid oak.

The door is an "engineered white oak door". That means its chip core with Oak rails and a White Oak paper veneer on it. Thats a ridiculous price for a pair of doors that aren't even real wood!!!

Why not nick the picture and go get a price from a local joiners shop! Rather than buying a set of crappy veneered doors from China!!!

Engineered is usually a term for veneered nowa days, look and engineered flooring! i fitted an Engineered oak Front door from wickes, on my mates bungalow, we had to remove 35mm so it would fit that left 2.5mm of oak on both edges. :cussing: when trimmed to height you could see the different timbers that the door was made from inside! ::b
if it says SOLID then it should be, but if it says engineered then its only a veneered door in reality!
