Thanks, my curiosity is satisfied :-)

CEF were the most amusing for the Edge stuff, they came up with something like £95+VAT. The manager and the guy on the counter couldn't stop laughing, they said they'd never sold any before and didn't think they ever would at those prices.

CEF just don't give a monkeys, I know guys who are sparks who refuse to use them as even their trade prices are comical....

Indeed, I was aware CEF have a poor rep but the MK stuff was on the website so I thought I might as well give it a shot. I tried Denmans as well, but they were also quite a bit more than the internet retailers even though the quote was using the electricians account - I wasn't surprised by that as Screwifx public prices seem to be cheaper than Denmans trade prices anyway. TLC-Direct counter nearest me is staffed by some helpful guys but they were stifled by the minimum order quantities imposed.

The savings is not something I will want to write home about, really.
If I need something, I buy it, period. No point driving around looking for a 50pence discount.

And has been pointed out, if you are prepared to pull the wool over staff eyes, you can open an Electrifix or Plumbfix account. A company letterhead and Business card will suffice for some staff.

BTW, I received a catalog from Harvey Water Softeners and it seems as if they have some good prices on end feed fittings?
Will have to check it out. Never could have guessed they sold fittings of that sort.
