My question:

Does it shut down, as in closes all applications and powers off gracefully or does it just power off without warning and stay off? As though the power had just been yanked?

Is it a laptop or desktop btw?

Just a thought,could it be the chipset overheating -if it has a fan is it spinning ok
Had this recently on My mates old Windows XP computer-changed the fan and it run without turning it self off
constantly.
