Picked up an HP monitor from PCWorld Yesterday. Packed up last night
Took it back this morning and swapped it for a Samsung.
Are back lit monitors reliable normally

How did I miss this? I've had a nagging feeling I'd forgotten to check something and this is it! :)
How's the new 'pooter treating you, big of a speed demon I see... :D
In regards to monitors, being back/side/top lit shouldn't make a difference....but saying that, all monitors are not created equal. Can't go wrong with a Samsung, my mother used to say.

The Samsung has outlasted the HP so can't be all bad.
I still prefer Dell but they didn't have any on the shelf.
You must tell me how to set the twin monitors up as well.
Don't know why it should be but my Internet speed is a 3rd faster as well

Have you got the monitors both connected?
If yes, first thing to do is press the
Windows Key and
P and select 'Extend' from the onscreen menu.
- windows.jpg (12.69 KiB) Viewed 1738 times
and
- extend.jpg (26.62 KiB) Viewed 1738 times
- Click start
- Type
multiple monitors and click:
Setup Computer to work with multiple monitors
- Press Identify to work out which is which
- Drag the number of the monitor so it's in in the right physical place on your desk
- Click Apply
- Move mouse arrow out the side of the screen and it will appear in monitor 2
For example...one of my screens is bigger, which makes it higher....so mine are like this:

Sorted!

root as the username and password (that root gets everywhere......
)

If it was me, I'd order or buy and external ESATA caddy (is it a laptop or desktop?), pull the drive from the old PC and whack it in the caddy.
Once connceted to your PC, copy stuff across - MEGA quick. Plus, the caddy is a well handy thing to have.

Billy,
The computer has 1 RGB and 1 DVI port for the monitors, does it make any difference or should I use the adapter cable to DVI
Or should I just link the two monitor together.
