i have the £300 armeg kit

it works on everything I have put against it

i also bought the water cooler kit which is garden sprayer for £30 ::b

i found both the drill and hole saws work very quickly when used with the water cooling kit, they do slow down as they blunt

faults,

well the holesaws have a fault in that the diamond coating creates a ridge inside the hole saw and wont cut through a thick tile, but if you drill it from both sides it works

and I broke two tile drills having to drill down a grout joint, but thats my fault really

and the bits are very expensive

oh cant see anybody mentioning the method my dad told me to use... :?

use tile cutter, one of the fixed scorer ones,
mark where you want to drill with pencil
and then twist the cutter to break the glaze / make a starter hole.
Drill with a masonary bit.

No hammers, water or special drill bits needed and I didnt crack a tile (drilled a LOT of holes in the tiles in my last kitchen) :-P
so, remind me, what does RSJ stand for?

in porcelain
they were white, ceramic wall tiles, the 6" ones stuck onto plasterboard walls. I used the method on the ones already in the kitchen and the ones I put up in the bathroom. Only damage was that I blunted the masonry drill bit in the end...

marlow. i could drill through a 6"white ceramic tile with my finger. you try drilling porcelain with a masonry drill. you will find after 30 bits and 4 days you may be off looking for diamond tipped drill bits and a water cooler.
